Когда мы рассказываем о работе и отвечаем на вопросы вроде "What do you do?" или "Where do you work?", снова нужны два времени. Present simple — это привычки, распорядок дня и факты, которые в целом верны: "I basically get on well with my co-workers." Present continuous — это то, что происходит прямо сейчас или в этот ограниченный период: "At the moment, she's working nights because a colleague is ill."

В present simple у he / she / it глагол получает окончание -s (works, runs, gets, deals, earns). Отрицание и вопрос строятся с do / does:

Сигнальные слова для present simple: usually, basically, like any job, every day. Для present continuous: at the moment, right now, this week, this month. Обратите внимание: некоторые вопросы о работе — это готовые фразы, которые лучше просто запомнить целиком, не разбирая по частям: "What do you do?", "Where do you work?", "How long have you worked there?", "What are the hours like?" В вопросе с обычным глаголом do / does или be выходят на первое место: "Do you get on with your co-workers?" — "Is he working nights this week?"
