A
My name is Tom. I work long hours most of the time — usually until ten at night. It is hard work, but I need to earn more money for my family. I always check my phone when I get home from work. Most of the time there are messages from my wife. She often asks, "Does anyone want to help me prepare dinner tonight?" I never say no.
B
I try to do some exercise in the morning before work. I sometimes go through the town for a short run. I enjoy being outside even when it is 0 degrees outside. I hardly ever go to the gym — it is cheaper to run in the street. My doctor always says, "You need to look after your body." I agree with him.
C
On Friday nights I do not do much. I usually stay at home and tidy my flat. The flat is quite noisy because it is on the main road, and people from outside the country often walk past at night. There is nowhere to go near me — it is not far from a dangerous area. I prefer a quiet place, but I am rarely in the countryside.
D
During the week I sometimes use English outside class. I was born in Warsaw, but I moved here a few years ago. My neighbours are from lots of different places — Asia, the Cornwall region, and the east of the country. We are close to each other and we often talk in English. "Hi, everyone!" — I say that almost every morning. It is a small thing, but it helps.
E
I rarely work at the weekend. I have a busy social life — I enjoy meeting friends and doing sports together. I am not good at it, but I love playing football in the park. My friend always says: "See you later!" after training. We want to take the train to the coast next month — on the island there is a quiet beach. We cannot wait.
